Course Description: Continuation of PHYS& 134 with emphasis on atomic theory of gases, heat, waves, sound and geometric optics.

Prerequisite: ENGL& 101 with a grade of C or higher; and either MATH 099 with a grade of C or higher (or placement into MATH& 141). AND Concurrent enrollment in PHYS& 125.

Student Learning Outcomes
  1. Understand and be able to apply the concepts, laws and principles of fluids, thermodynamics, waves, sound and optics to explain or predict physical phenomena.
  2. Solve numerical problems using appropriate physical laws, principles, and mathematical techniques (including algebra) for variables such as buoyancy, work, heat, frequency, refraction, etc.
  3. Recognize diverse learning styles through group work in the classroom and in the laboratory.
